The Gibraltar Local Disability Movement website was established in June 27, 2005, aiming to give people a platform to voice their views on local disability issues, and providing a source of information on disabled issues. The G.L.D.M. seeks to improve the lives of disabled people and member in their family with help, information and support.
This website contents is not all about disability it also about being able to enjoy what the internet has to offer. On this site local and world news can be found, Entertainment, with our live webcam and other cams, music with our radio, pulse we offer cams, music, TV, from around the world. Disability issues can be found on this site but the intention or desire of the making of this site was and still is, that we had to have a website were all can have the ability to use the site even by solely using a keyboard, The site had to have accessibility guidelines in all consideration but without taken away the enjoyment of the internet, the site had to have intellectual, scientific, and philosophical contents and offer and provide all with information and support, in addition give the users a platform were they can voice the opinions.
The General functions of The Gibraltar Local Disability Movement
- To work towards the elimination of discrimination against disabled persons....
- To promote the equalisation of opportunities for disabled persons....
- To take such steps as it considers appropriate with a view to encouraging good practice in the treatment of disabled persons....
- Make proposals or give other advice to any Ministers as to any aspect of the law or a proposed change to the law....
- Make proposals or give other advice to any Government agency or other public authority as to the practical application of any law....
- Work towards the elimination of discrimination against - and equalise opportunities for - people with disabilities. It will also promote good practice to employers and service providers, provide advice and information and advise the Government about the implementation of the Disability Discrimination Act....

PEOPLE WITH DISABILITY CLOCK TURNING BACKWARDS
The Gibraltar Local Disability Movement has had to come out this week in protest to the conditions that disabled people in Gibraltar are being subjected to.
A spokesperson of the GLDM has come out today with a strong statement where spokesman Mr Gordon Nelson adds, “ Many changes have been going on in Gibraltar and it is sad that disability only comes out in the forefront when it suits to enhance the requirements of any public servants or the public.” Continue Reading >>>
